Seascape
For this project we were asked to create a new entrance for the property which was both exciting and spacious. The client had asked for a courtyard garden for entertaining and relaxing. He had a specific request of an olive tree in the entertaining area which would catch the evening sun.
The 45 degree angular grid which we worked from provided us with more useful areas to work with. We focussed on making the central walkway exciting and fun. This was achieved by having a pergola overhead and adding a focal point at the end of the walkway to lead people towards the house. A row of lavender was incorporated along the entrance path providing visitors with a lovely scent in the summer months as well as leading the eye through to the garden.
The existing house entrance was flat, boring and consisted mainly of a cobble drive. This entrance had a very bland feel to it making the house very unwelcoming.
